Metal Chimney Crown

Often used to cover chimney chase surrounds or brick masonry crowns it fits over the top of the chimney like a shoe box cover fits the top of a shoe box.

Then lay sheet metal or cement board across the metal supports to form a thin bond break between the chimney crown and the masonry walls. Unlike a chimney cap which is typically made of metal and merely covers the opening to the flue the chimney crown covers the entire top of the chimney.
